Cinematographer. Born 15/6 1954. Educated from the Danish Film School in 1979. Dan Laustsen has been behind the camera on a wide range of national and international productions since the 1970's.
Laustsen worked with Ole Bornedal on the thriller "Nightwatch" in 1994, and the two have since worked together on a number of productions. Over the years, this has won Laustsen Robert Awards for "I am Dina" (2002) and "Just Another Love Story" (2007). He has also won awards for his work with "Thunderbirds" (1983), "Emma's Shadow" (1988) and "Miracle in Valby" (1989). The cooperation with Bornedal continued on the television series "1864" (2014) and the comedy "Small Town Killers" (2017).
In recent years Dan Laustsen has been Director of Photography on the international productions "Crimson Peak" (2015) and "The Shape of Water" (2017) by Mexican director Guillermo del Toro.
