The Act of Killing wins DOX AWARD

AWARDS. Copenhagen's International Documentary Film Festival CPH:DOX has announced the winners of the competition series. Joshua Oppenheimer's "The Act of Killing" wins the top prize. Other winners include "Leviathan", "Searching for Bill" and "Beware of Mr. Baker".

Friday night at the CPH:DOX' closing ceremony, the international juries revealed the recipients of the awards.

Winner of the DOX:AWARD in the international main competition was Danish "The Act of Killing" by Joshua Oppenheimer.

"The Jury would like to award a film for its ability to show the construction of fear in a society and for its courageous re-enactment of the madness of the past, still echoing in the present," was the jury's motivation.
