"Aftermath" in competition at AFI FEST

Paprika Steen's feature
film debut "Aftermath" is competing in the Official Competition at AFI
FEST 2004 (4-14 November). Additionally, the director is presented in New
Faces In European Cinema, a new initiative by the European Film Promotion.
Paprika Steen is selected alongside directors from nine other European
countries. The screenings of Steen's film at AFI FEST 2004 take place on 7
and 9 November.
At the 46th Nordic Film
Days in Lübeck (4-7 November) "Aftermath" won the Baltic Films Prize. The
jury gave the prize "for the powerful yet sensitive depiction of our
solitary ways to come to terms with the loss of a loved one." The film
also received a Special Mention from the Church Film Prize
Jury.
"Aftermath" recently won
the Grand Prix at the 34th "Molodist" Film Festival in Kiev (23-31
October), and screened at the London Film Festival (20 October-4
November), where it was nominated for the prestigious award, the
Sutherland Trophy.
