"As I see it, a willingness to take risks is fundamental to a producer," says producer Eva Jakobsen, the Danish participant in this year's Producers on the Move, the networking platform organised by European Film Promotion (EFP) and launched during the Cannes Festival.
A resumé including Mads Brügger's "The Ambassador" testifies to the range of the never risk-adverse producer's work. As an interpreter and production manager on Brügger’s 2011 documentary, Eva Jakobsen and the director pulled off a precarious balancing act in their exposé of corruption in the conflict-torn Central African Republic.
Since 2008, Eva Jakobsen has been working at Nimbus Film, where she was assistant producer on Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2009 Viking drama "Valhalla Rising" and recently produced her first feature, Ask Hasselbalch’s superhero movie "Antboy", which will soon be followed by a sequel, "Antboy II". Before joining Nimbus Film, Eva Jakobsen worked at Zentropa, where she was involved in such films as Lars von Trier's "The Boss of It All "(2006) and Omar Shargawi's "Go With Peace Jamil" (2008).
Eva Jakobsen is one of the 24 up-and-coming European producers taking part in the workshops, speed-dating meetings and other networking opportunities offered by Producers on the Move 17-19 May during the Cannes Festival.

The Danish producer Jesper Morthorst (SF Film Production) took part in the Producers on the Move at the 2011 Cannes Festival, as did the Polish producer Lukasz Dzieciol (Opus Film). The meeting between the two kicked off the Polish-Danish co-production "The Word", a film about misguided love that drives a young couple to commit a horrible crime. The film enjoyed its premiere at the Berlinale's Generation sidebar.
