FILMCENTRALEN LEARNING PLATFORM

Filmcentralen, the Danish Film learning platform and streaming site, features a large collection of films and learning resources for students and teachers in primary, secondary schools and high school. The service is available on all media platforms, including tablets and smartphones, in the classroom and from home.

Filmcentralen streaming site features more than 2,000 titles – shorts, documentaries, series and feature films. A lot of the films come with learning materials of various kinds and lengths. Altogether, Filmcentralen features more than 600 different sets of educational materials. Filmcentralen also includes a Film Lexicon providing definitions of key film terms – in words, pictures and film clips.

Filmcentralen is also where to access the Danish Film Institute’s other educational brands and resources including the national school cinema programme, Med Skolen I Biografen, FILM-X, the Danish Film Institute’s interactive film studio, where children and teens can make their own films. Finally, there is an overview of film learning-activities, resources and research reports.

Since Filmcentralen was launched in 2013, the use of films and learning resources has steadily grown. It has around one million streams and a bit more than one million unique users annually. Read more about facts and figures.
