Christina Ramsø Thomsen, soon to take on her new post of commissioning editor at the Danish Film Institute, comes from a position as development consultant at national broadcaster DR, where she has worked primarily with documentaries, focusing on digital content and user involvement. She has previously functioned as an editor, scriptwriter, TV producer and director. Christina Ramsø Thomsen has an MA in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen (2001).
Christina Ramsø Thomsen says: "I have worked with talent development on several occasions, and I see it as a great privilege to be offered the opportunity to support film talents on their way to a demanding, digitally oriented audience. I have a fondness for narrators who are not afraid to tackle complex societal issues with courage and fearlessness – but most of all, I look forward to learning about all the ideas and thoughts that are out there among the talents."
The commissioning editor is employed for a fixed period of two years. Christina Ramsø Thomsen replaces Marie Schmidt Olesen and joins the Danish Film Institute on 1 November 2017.
