'Dancer In The Dark' to open New York Film Festival

d'Or winner 'Dancer In The Dark' will open the 38th New York Film Festival
on September 22. In a press release the Film Society of Lincoln Center
describes the film as "An emotional cinematic roller coaster with
innovative musical numbers, the film stars the internationally acclaimed
pop artist Björk in an unforgettable performance."'Dancer In The
Dark' will also inaugurate this year's 45th annual Valladolid
International Film Film Festival on October 20. It is the second time a
von Trier film opens the popular Spanish festival. Von Trier's 'Breaking
The Waves' opened Valladolid in 1996.The movie will screen out of
competition in the festival's Official Section. 'Dancer in the
Dark's next stop as a festival opener will be the Talinn Black Night's
Film Festival in Estonia on December 2.
