Danish Films at CPH:DOX 2025

CPH:DOX. 36 Danish documentaries premiere at CPH:DOX 2025 highlighting the diversity and depth of Denmark’s nonfiction scene.

Copenhagen's International Documentary Film Festival (March 19–30), is one of Europe’s leading showcases for documentary cinema, presenting more than 200 documentaries from around the globe. Danish filmmaking takes centre stage this year with 36 titles, the majority premiering at the festival, including 19 films supported by the Danish Film Institute (DFI).

Among the highlights competing for the prestigious DOX:AWARD is Christian Sønderby Jepsen's 'The Father, The Sons and The Holy Spirit' a poignant follow-up to his acclaimed 2011 documentary 'The Will.' Also in the spotlight is the powerful Greenlandic documentary 'Walls – Akinni Inuk,' directed by Nina Paninnguaq Skydsbjerg and Sofie Rørdam, selected for the NORDIC:DOX competition.

This year’s strong Danish presence underscores the vitality of the country's documentary scene, offering festival-goers and industry professionals alike a vibrant array of stories and perspectives.
