March releases - Royal Drama and Nordic Noir

NEW RELEASES. Nikolaj Arcel's Silver Bear winner "A Royal Affair" enjoys its Danish release 29 March. March also sees the release of another historical drama, "Hvidsten gruppen", and the thriller "Those Who Kill – Shadow of the Past".

A Royal Affair

"When you are overtaken on the freeway, it's nice that it's by a Ferrari." So said Mads Mikkelsen when his young co-star Mikkel Boe Følsgaard won a Silver Bear for Best Actor for his first film role as the deranged King Christian VII. Nikolaj Arcel's period drama took home two awards in Berlin: Co-writers Nickolaj Arcel and Rasmus Heisterberg also received a Silver Bear for Best Script.

"A Royal Affair" is based on the dramatic story of love and politics between King Christian VII, his English queen Caroline Mathilde and the king's physician, Struensee.

Besides the young talent Følsgaard, the film features Mads Mikkelsen as Struensee in his first Danish roles in years, and Swedish upcoming star Alicia Vikander as Queen Caroline Mathilda.

Those Who Kill – Shadow of the Past

Around the world, people are lapping up Scandinavian mysteries – from "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" to "The Killing".
With "Those Who Kill – Shadow of the Past" comes another chilling noir, the theatrical version of a TV series.

Detective Katrine Ries Jensen and legal psychiatrist Thomas Schaeffer form a special unit at the Copenhagen Police investigating serial killings. A case from Schaeffer's past crops up. As a young psychologist, he held back from sending a patient, who was manically drawing the details of a traffic accident, to a secure hospital. Now these bloody scenes resurface, enacted as real killings.
