Mikkel Jersin is Producer on the Move

CANNES. Mikkel Jersin will be off to the Cannes Festival as one of 20 emerging European producers ready to network under the Producers on the Move initiative.

Each year during Cannes, the networking platform Producers on the Move shines a spotlight on young European producers. Among the 20 participants selected for this year's event is Danish producer Mikkel Jersin who, along with his peers, will be offered one-to-one working sessions and various opportunities to strengthen his international relations. The four-day event takes places 14-17 May.

Producer Mikkel Jersin graduated as a producer from the National Film School of Denmark in 2011. Shortly after, he was headhunted by Nimbus Film to work as producer and international co-producer. Jersin's first film as producer on a Danish major is "Sparrows" (Rúnar Rúnarsson, 2015).

He continued to work on a number of international co-production, including "Hotel" (Lisa Langseth, Sweden, 2013), "Virgin Mountain" (Dagur Kári, Iceland, 2015) and "Louder Than Bombs" (Joachim Trier, Norway, 2015).

In the summer of 2015, he started his own production company, Snowglobe, along with Katrin Pors and Eva Jakobsen. The company is currently involved with productions by Amat Escanates, Joachim Trier, Omar Shargawi and Ralitza Petrova.

Jersin was named one of Screen International's Future Leaders in 2015.

Producers on the Move

Producers on the Move is organised by European Film Promotion (EFP) and supported by EU's media programme Creative Europe. Last year, the number of participants was limited to 20 to give the event a tighter focus. Main criteria for qualifying are international experience in co-producing and theatrical releases outside of the home country.
