Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Philip Einstein Lipski and Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen have been nominated for the Cartoon Movie Tributes 2012 in the category European Director of the Year for their film "Ronal the Barbarian" at this year's Cartoon Movie that takes place 7-9 March 2012.
European animation professionals will pay tribute to the director, producer and distributor who they believe have made an outstanding contribution to the animated feature industry over the past year. The award ceremony will be held in Lyon, France, on 9 March as part of the 14th Cartoon Movie - the European co-production forum for animated feature films.
Thorbjørn Christofersen and Kresten Vestbjerg has previously directed Danish animation heavyweights "Journey to Saturn" and "Terkel in Trouble". "Ronal The Barbarian" is produced by Einstein Film with support from TV 2/Danmark and the Danish Film Institute.

9 Danish projects and co-productions
In addition to "Ronal the Barbarian”, another four Danish projects will be presented at the event:
"The Snowflakes" and "Marco Macaco" (both produced by Nice Ninja); "How Tom & Esther Saved the World" (PH3 ApS and A. Films) and "The Secret of Halloween" (Lani Pixels).
Danish animation will also participate at Cartoon Movie 2012 through another four co-productions that have been selected for the event: "Me & my Brother", "Beyond Beyond", "Hocus Pocus Alfie Atkins!" and "Niko 2".
A total of 55 new European animation films and projects will be presented at the forum with the aim of speeding up financing and distribution.
Thursday 8 March the Danish Film Institute invites the international animation industry to "Meet the Danes" with drinks and networking. The event will take place at Bar Americain in Lyon at 10 pm.
