Scherfig Nominated for BAFTAs

Lone Scherfig's British-produced "An Education" has been nominated for eight BAFTA awards (British Academy of Film & Television Arts). Thereby, Scherfig's 1960's coming of age story leads the race along with James Cameron's "Avatar" and Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker".

"An Education" is nominated for Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Leading Actress, Supporting Actor, Costume Design and Make up & Hair. Leading actress Carey Mulligan is also nominated for the Orange Rising Star Award.
