Special Mention to Nothing's All Bad

AWARD. "I'm haunted by a basic fear of loneliness, and I wanted to try and put that into film," says Mikkel Munch-Fals about the overriding theme in "Nothing's All Bad". The film picked up a Special Mention in San Sebastian.

Mikkel Munch-Fals' ensemble drama "Nothing's All Bad" was awarded a Special Mention at San Sebastian International Film Festival (17-25 September). The film ran in the Kutxa-New Directors programme that showcases first or second feature films.

"We are deeply impressed," writes the jury, "by this film's skill in displaying the loneliness of its characters and the ability in time for letting our sympathy for them grow into hope." Mikkel Munch-Fals' film was one of three in the New Directors programme that stood out according to the jury – the two others being "Los Colores de la Montaña" by Carlos César Arbeláez (Kutxa New Directors Award), and "La Vida Útil" by Federico Veiroj (Special Mention).

"Nothing's All Bad" is produced by Meta Louise Foldager and Stine Meldgaard Madsen for Zentropa, and TrustNordisk handles international sales.

The film was released in Danish cinemas 23 September. Read interview with Mikkel Munch-Fals in our festival magazine FILM#69.
