Will Bier win her Oscar?

ACADEMY AWARDS. "In a Better World", Susanne Bier's drama on human dilemmas, is in the run for the world's most prestigious film award on Sunday. The Danish director is no Hollywood novice, though.

Success has been soaring for Susanne Bier and Zentropa's "In a Better World", culminating in January's Golden Globe award and Academy Award nomination. Sunday will show whether the Danish director will manage to turn the nomination into a win and land her first Oscar.

Bier is no Hollywood novice, though. Her drama "After the Wedding" starring Mads Mikkelsen received an Oscar nomination in 2007, and the American film capital also remembers Bier for the US remake of "Brothers" and her direction of DreamWorks' "Thing We Lost in the Fire" with Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro.
