Paprika Steen in Superclásico

NEW RELEASE. The actress teams up with director Ole Christian Madsen in new divorce comedy set in Argentina.

Paprika Steen plays Anna who has left her husband Christian to become a successful football agent in Buenos Aires. Christian (Anders W. Berthelsen) pays her a visit to talk things over.

Football-hating Christian is in for a mighty culture clash. He desperately tries to win Anna back in the midst of the collective ecstacy for the coming classic showdown between the two best teams in Argentina, "Superclásico".

Director Ole Christian Madsen's previous work includes "Flame & Citron", "A Love Story" and "Prague". "Superclásico" marks his debut in comedy:

"I simply decided to insist on the good feelings in life," Madsen says about this shift in genre. "No matter how life shapes itself and what tragedies hit you there are good feelings in life. When you make a film with that view it affects you as a person. It was really liberating for me to be in Buenos Aires. It got some energies and thoughts flowing that I hadn't experienced before."

"Superclásico" is written by Madsen and Anders Frithiof August. Signe Leick Jensen and Lars Bredo Rahbek produced for Nimbus Film. International sales are handled by The Match Factory.
