Cecilia Lidin joins the DFI with more than 20 years of experience in developing and financing documentary films. From 2011 to June of this year she was employed at the Swedish Film Institute as Documentary Film Commissioner. From 2009 to 2011, Cecilia Lidin headed the European Documentary Network where she was previously assigned as a consultant. She has also served as artistic director of Odense International Film Festival and worked with the promotion of Nordic short films and documentaries at Filmkontakt Nord. Cecilia Lidin, who is a Film Studies graduate from the University of Copenhagen, takes over from Klara Grunning-Harris and starts her work on 1 October.
New film commissioners for feature films, Hanne Palmquist and Mikkel Munch-Fals, took over from Kim Leona and Steen Bille on 1 September:
Hanne Palmquist came from a position as Commissioning Editor for Drama and Feature Film at SVT in Stockholm. Before that she was head of Nordisk Film & TV Fond for almost seven years. Earlier career stops include production company Fine & Mellow as producer, Nordisk Film as Nordic acquisition manager, the Danish Film Institute as marketing producer, to which she now returns, and Zentropa as head of PR. Hanne Palmquist holds an MA in Aesthetics and Culture from Aarhus University.
Mikkel Munch-Fals has since his MA in Film Studies from the University of Copenhagen been engaged in the development and production of film and television. He first became a familiar face for Danish audiences as the host of a highly popular film review programme, Premiere, on Danish national broadcaster DR. He has directed short films and made his feature debut with 2010's "Nothing's All Bad," which took home an award at the film festival in Palm Springs. Before taking his position at the DFI, he finished directing his second feature film, "Swinger," which is scheduled for release in January 2016.
