Melbourne International Film Festival, kicking off tomorrow, will screen 11 films from Denmark. Documentary films dominate the selection, while two of the year's prominent short fiction films will also screen: "Berik", winner of Semaine de la Critique's Grand Prix Canal+, and the Oscar Winner "The New Tenants". Festival visitors will also have a chance to see "Brotherhood", a feature film debut by Nicolo Donato and Asta Film, winner at Rome, Miami and Tallinn film festivals.
We asked Michelle Carey, programmer at Melbourne film festival, for a comment regarding the selection of Danish docs for Melbourne this year. Carey says:
