Over the next 11 days BUSTER Copenhagen International Film Festival for Children and Youth invites young audiences from age 3 and up to experience more than 130 films from all over the world.
The 12th edition of Denmark's number one festival for children and young people boasts, as always, a strong international programme in very different genres in both fiction and documentary.
BUSTER kicks off on Thursday 13 September with the world premiere of the Danish animation "Marco Macaco" by Jan Rahbek. Jacob Ley's short animation "The Secret of the Ice Flower", selected for London Film Festival in October, will also enjoy its world premiere at BUSTER.
Animation fans can also look forward to a retrospective of Danish animation's grand old man Jannik Hastrup. In addition of classics like "Benny's Bathtub" and "Samson and Sally", BUSTER presents the world premiere of Hastrup's new short "Jeg altid husker far - Soléns historie".
Other Danish premieres include Morten Køhlert's feature "The Secret", Anja Hauberg's documentary series "My family and I", Ulla Søe and Sussie Weinold's documentary "Shanne", Mariella Harpelunde Jensen's short "The Curse" and Jacob Bitsch's short "Wild Bird".
A children's jury, a youth jury and an international jury present the BUSTER Awards on 21 September.

Hand-on and talent competition
BUSTER offers a wide range of workshops, which give children and youngsters a chance to explore different aspects of film making and experiment with online activities.
BUSTER Media Academy, a new initiative, hosts 35 workshops in digital media and film, where school children are offered a hands-on approach to production processes and storytelling techniques in documentary, animation, audio production, apps, games and more.
Also during the festival, a competition for young filmmakers under the age of 20, OREGON, names the best productions among a lineup of 40 films which have been selected earlier this year at regional competitions. Three days of workshops, film screenings and talks by renowned filmmakers culminate in the final awards ceremony on 16 September.
