Peaceforce Wins at Clermont-Ferrand

AWARD. Peter Gornstein's "Peaceforce" brought home the Prix Canal+ at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France.

The International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand is the world's biggest and most esteemed festival for short films. Both director Peter Gornstein and producer Beatrice von Schwerin were present at the festival when they received the Prix Canal+. As part of the award, Canal+ will buy the film and broadcast it in France and Spain.

"Peaceforce" is set in a near future where the young officer Daniel (played by Cyron Melville) meets a distinguished local citizen who claims that an elephant has run amok. Driven by idealism Daniel follows the man into the deserted city believing he can make a difference. But something is wrong, and Daniel quickly discovers that he is out of his depth.

The film is produced by Jonas Allen and Beatrice von Schwerin for Miso Film with support from New Danish Screen under DFI.
