Following a decision by
Danish film industry representatives and the DFI, the feature film "Adam's
Apples", written and directed by Anders Thomas Jensen, is selected as the
Danish entrant for the Academy Award Nominations 2006 in the category of
Best Foreign Language Film.
Produced by Tivi
Magnusson and Mie Andreasen for M & M Productions, "Adam's Apples" has
been seen by over 350,000 Danes in its first weeks of release. The film
was selected for Toronto International Film Festival in September and will
participate in a number of other international film festivals in 2005 and
2006.
Anders Thomas Jensen,
not unfamiliar with the Hollywood scene, won an Oscar in 1999 for his
short live action "Election Night", after two previous Oscar nominations
for the short live action films: "Ernst & the Light" in 1997 and
"Wolfgang" in 1998. All three films were produced by M & M
Productions.
Anders Thomas Jensen has
written and directed two earlier feature films: "Flickering Lights" (2000)
and "The Green Butchers" (2003), both of which were very popular at the
national boxoffice and carried home several international awards. Jensen
was also writer on the awardwinning feature films "Mifune" (1999), "Open
Hearts" (2002), and "Brødre" (2004).
