Bille August's latest
feature film "Return to Sender" is selected for Toronto International Film
Festival (9-18 September 2004). "Return to Sender" will be screened at a
gala ceremony in the presence of Bille August and leading players Connie
Nielsen, Kelly Preston and Tim Daly.
"Return to Sender" is
about Frank, who for some reason is cynical about the judicial system, and
begins to correspond with convicts on death row in order to discover their
soul and sell their letters to the tabloids. His cynicism is reversed and
his character redeemed when he falls in love with one of his
correspondents, a young woman on death row convicted of kidnapping and
killing a child. Frank sets out to prove her innocence - a race against
time - risking everything for the woman who has made him face
himself.
"Return to Sender" is
produced by Michael Lunderskov for Moviefan Scandinavia. The screenplay is
by Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, both writers on the James Bond films "The
World is not Enough" and "Die Another Day". Leading players are Connie
Nielsen, Aidan Quinn, Kelly Preston and Tim Daly.
Also selected for
Toronto is Susanne Bier's "Brothers", which will screen in the
Contemporary World Cinema programme.
"Return to Sender" is
scheduled for release in Denmark in 2005.
