Spotlight on two Danish documentaries

Nahid Persson's "Prostitution Behind the Veil" is nominated for an
International Emmy Award, while Jeppe Rønde's "The Swenkas" is nominated
for a Prix Arte award at the European Film Academy Awards.
"Prostitution Behind the Veil""Prostitution Behind
the Veil" is the first Danish documentary film selected for an Emmy
nomination. Awards will be presented at a gala ceremony in New York on
Monday 21 November.
This 58 minute documentary film, produced by Cosmo Film, has been
screened at a number of international festivals, and has received
accolades in Creteil, Krakow, London, Melbourne and Vila do Conde.
"The Swenkas"Also produced by Cosmo Film, the 72
minute "The Swenkas" is one of 11 European documentary films
competing for the Prix Arte at the European Film Academy Awards, taking
place in Berlin on Saturday 3 December.
Selected for the Official Compeitition at CPH:DOX, "The Swenkas"
received a Joris Ivens nomination at Amsterdam IDFA in 2004 and the
Special Jury Prize at Toronto Hot Docs earlier this year. The film will be
released in Danish cinemas 9 December.
