cph:dox Awards 2006


At the closing gala of cph:dox, Copenhagen's international documentary film festival (10-19 November 2006), the following awards were presented:

cph:dox Special Mention: "The Monastery", Pernille Rose Grønkjær (Denmark, 2006).

Amnesty Award: "The Prize of the Pole", directed by Staffan Julén (Sweden- Denmark, 2006).

Amnesty Award Special Mention: "Voices of Bam", directed by Aliona van der Horst and Maasja Ooms (Holland, 2006).

Amnesty Award Special Mention: "Maquilápolis – City of Factories", directed by Vicky Funari and Sergio de la Torre (Mexico-USA, 2006).

New Vision Award (short film): "Eine Million Kredit ist normal, sagt mein Grossvater", directed by Gabriele Mathes (Austria, 2006).

New Vision Award (long film): "Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait", directed by Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. (France-Iceland, 2006)

New Vision Award (long film): "Tarachime", directed by Naomi Kawase (Japan, 2006).

Sound & Vision Award: "Dave Chapelle's Block Party", directed by Michel Gondry (USA, 2005).

GuldDok Awards 2006At the opening night of cph:dox, 9 November, the Danish Producers' Association presented their GuldDok Awards to celebrate the 2006 yield of Danish documentaries:

GuldDok 2006: "Gasolin'", directed by Anders Østergaard for Cosmo Doc.

GuldDok for Best Short Film: "Beths dagbog"/"Beth's Diary", directed by Mikala Krogh, Kent Klich and Beth for Tju-Bang Film.

GuldDok for Best Long Film: "Ondskabens anatomi"/"The Anatomy of Evil", directed by Ove Nyholm for Digital Film.

GuldDok for Best Sound: "Inden for mine øjne"/"My Eyes", sound by Andreas Kongsgaard Mogensen, direction by Erlend E. Mo for Magic Hour Films.

GuldDok for Best Editing: "Freeway", editing by Per K. Kirkegaard, direction by Jacob Thuesen for Tju-Bang Film.

GuldDok for Best Cinematography: "Freeway", cinematography by Lars Skree and Morten Søborg, direction by Jacob Thuesen for Tju-Bang Film.

GuldDok for Best Debut: "En sort streg om øjet"/"The Black Lines", directed by Camilla Magid for Boris Bertram Film.

Roos Award
Also on opening night 9 November, the Danish Film Institute presented its annual Roos Award. This year's award went to Arne Bro, director for the documentary section of the National Film School of Denmark.

Former awardwinners include Jørgen Roos, Jørgen Leth, Sami Saif, Phie Ambo, Janus Billeskov Jansen, Jon Bang Carlsen, Jesper Jargil, Anne Wivel, Tue Steen Müller og Niels Pagh Andersen.
