Berlin 2008: Five Danish films in the programme

With today's selection of director Søren Kragh-Jacobsen's feature "What No One Knows" for the prestigious Panorama Special, the number of Danish films in this year's programme amounts to five – four feature films and one short.
A political thrillerHis fifth time in Berlin, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen first came to the festival audience's attention in 1982, where he won for best children's film with "Rubber Tarzan", and again in 1999, winning a Silver Bear for his Dogme feature "Mifune".

"What No One Knows" is a political thriller, produced by Nimbus Film: When Thomas' sister dies in an accident, he discovers that her death may be connected to their deceased father's work in military intelligence. As he embarks on an investigation, he soon finds himself and his family under surveillance by an unknown group of people.
5 films and a shooting starNot since 2003 have there been as many as four Danish feature films represented in the festival's official programme: "What No One Knows" (Søren Kragh-Jacobsen) in the Panorama Special, "Worlds Apart" (Niels Arden Oplev) and "Fighter" (Natasha Arthy) in Generation 14plus, and "A Tale of Two Mozzies" (Flemming Quist Møller and Jannik Hastrup) in Generation Kplus.
The fifth film to participate this year is director Ole Bendtzen's short film "Berlin Hair Today", competing for a Berlin Today Award at the festival's Talent Campus.
Finally, Danish Stine Fischer Christensen is one of nine actors selected among candidates from 22 European countries to run in the festival's Shooting Stars programme.
