Thomas Vinterberg
received the Silver George Award for Best Director at the 27th Moscow
International Film Festival (17-26 June 2005), where his feature film
"Dear Wendy" competed in the Official Selection. Moreover, the film
received a Special Prize, a Puffin Award from Vogue Magazine for Best
Stylistic Art Design.
"Dear Wendy" has been
sold to some 25 European countries, to the USA and Canada, as well as a
number of countries in South America, the Middle East and Asia. The film's
Russian release has been set for August.

Jørgensen for Lucky Punch I/S - a Nimbus-Zentropa joint production, "Dear
Wendy" is an international coproduction between Denmark, France, Great
Britain and Germany.
The international cast
includes British actor Jamie Bell ("Billy Elliot", "Deathwatch") in the
lead, Bill Pullman ("Independence Day", "Lost Highway", "Sleepless in
Seattle"), Chris Owen ("American Pie"), Danso Gordon ("American History
X"), Mark Webber ("Hollywood Ending"), Michael Angarano ("Almost Famous",
"Will and Grace") and Alison Pill ("Pieces of April").
Special Focus on
DenmarkWhile "Manderlay", the second film in Lars von Trier's
latest trilogy, was screened at a gala ceremony at this year's Moscow
Film Festival, another eight Danish feature films screened in a programme
entitled Danish Cinema Today. The titles are:
