Cyron Melville selected for Berlin's Shooting Stars

Danish actor Cyron Melville, 24, is one of the ten European acting talents selected for Shooting Stars at Berlin International Film Festival (5-15 February 2009), a programme organized by European Film Promotion (EFP).An international jury, whose members included film historian Peter Cowie and producer Antonio Saura, commented on their choice of Melville: "With his photogenic looks and imposing physical presence, he has a candid look that engages an audience immediately, and his evident versatility will ensure his stature as an actor in the years ahead."Cyron Melville, of Danish and Scottish descent has played leading roles in films and television productions since he was 10 years old. His convincing role in "The Beast Within" (Carsten Rudolf, 1995) was succeeded by significant roles in films such as "Kick'n Rush" (Aage Rais-Nordentoft, 2004), "Life Hits" (Christian E. Christiansen, 2005), "Triple Dare" (Christina Rosendahl, 2006) and "Fighter" (Natasha Arthy, 2008). This year, he was cast in the new Danish film "Curse of the Seeress" and plays the lead in Morten Giese's "Daniel" (both titles are 'working titles' and scheduled for release in 2009).
