Chicago selects "Day and Night" and "Blue Collar White Christmas"

Press release06.10.2004Simon Staho's second feature film
"Day and Night" is selected for the official competition at Chicago
International Film Festival (7-21 October 2004). In their programme the
festival describes the film as "a dark, enthralling drama as gripping as
it is minimal".
"Day and Night" has just
returned from screenings at one of Europe's most important platforms, the
San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it was selected for the
Zabaltegi programme for New Directors.
"Day and Night" is a
Danish-Swedish co-production, produced by Jonas Frederiksen and Anne
Katrine Andersen for Zentropa Productions and Swedish production partners
Sonet Film and Film I Väst. The all-Swedish cast includes Lena Endre,
Pernilla August, Maria Bonnevie and lead Mikael Persbrandt. The narrator
is Erland Josephson.
Screenings of Staho's
film in Chicago will take place on 8th, 9th and 10th of October. The film
will be released in Danish cinemas 26 November.
Selected for the
Documentary Competition at Chicago Film Festival is the Danish documentary
"Blue Collar White Christmas", directed by Max Kestner and produced by
Lynx Media and Koncern TV & Film Production. The film was awarded at
the Odense International Film Festival.
"Rule No. 1" (2003),
directed by Oliver Ussing and produced by Zeitgeist, will screen in the
programme World Cinema, while "Sofie" (1992), directed by Liv Ullmann and
produced by Nordisk Film, will screen in the Flashback programme.
