Simon Staho's feature
film "Day and Night" was awarded a Silver Hugo for "its perfectly balanced
ensemble acting" at the Chicago International Film Festival (7-21 October
2004).
The actors in this
ensemble are Mikael Persbrandt, Sam Kessel, Maria Bonnevie, Michael
Nyqvist, Lena Endre, Hans Alfredson, Pernilla August, Fares Fares, Marie
Goranzon, Tuva Novotny and Erland Josephson.
In September "Day and
Night" was screened in the Zabaltegi programme for New Directors at the
San Sebastian International Film Festival, one of Europe's most important
platforms. Over the coming months the film will screen at destinations in
Europe and North and South America. "Day and Night" will be released in
