At World's End — Hamburg favourite

"At World's End" is one of the five Danish films selected for the Hamburg Film Festival, one of Germany's biggest festivals focusing audience participation.

Tomas Villum Jensen's "At World's End", scripted by Anders Thomas Jensen and with Nikolaj Lie Kaas in the lead, will receive its world premiere at Hamburg. This action-packed comedy, to be released in Danish cinemas 9 October, is produced by M&M Productions, K5 and New Holland Pictures.

Martin Pieter Zandvliet and Koncern Film's "Applause", winner at Karlovy Vary and selected for Toronto earlier in September, is one of the 12 international titles nominated for the Hamburg Film Critic Award and Foreign Press Award. "Applause" will be released in Danish cinemas 25 September.

Festival guests will also be able to attend the international premiere of Nils Malmros and Nordisk Film's "Aching Hearts", recipient of Best Actress at Shanghai, and Hella Joof and Fine & Mellow's drama "Hush Little Baby". Also programmed is Kasper Barfoed and Miso Film's thriller "The Candidate".

The Swedish-Danish coproduction "Warriors of Love", by Simon Staho, is also selected for the festival.
