Filmhouse in November

Neon casts a dazzling light over documentaries this month with CPH:DOX running from 4-14 November, and there's more offering. A selection of great films with the ultimate star, Joan Crawford, auteur films by Atom Egoyan, a tribute to Claude Chabrol, to mention a few.

Atom Egoyan

Armenian-Canadian director Atom Egoyan has instructed more than 30 short, feature and TV-movies. The Copenhagen Filmhouse is showing the talented and provoking auteurs best films.

Novembers programme

THE FILMHOUSE

The Filmhouse is not only home to the Cinematheque, screening films Tuesdays through to Sundays, but also to an extensive film library, the educational film studio FILM-X, a videotheque with some 1.500 titles available for viewing, a video & bookshop, and the café and restaurant SULT. The Filmhouse is also home to the Danish Film Institute, the national agency responsible for supporting and encouraging film and cinema culture.

The Cinematheque's monthly programme usually includes some 20-50 films with English dialogue or with English subtitles.

Normal ticket prices are 40 dkk for members and 65 dkk for non-members.

BECOME A MEMBER

You can join the Cinematheque: annual membership is 250 dkk (for two living in the same household 300 dkk). There is a 50% discount for students and retired citizens. Members also enjoy free entry to a number of films throughout the year.

LOCATION
The Filmhouse is located in central Copenhagen at Gothersgade 55, opposite the Kings Garden and Rosenborg Castle.

BY BUS
The Bus line 350S stops almost at the main entrance to the Filmhouse. The stop at Kronprinsessegade is closest.


BY TRAIN OR METRO
The Filmhouse in an 8-10 minute walk from City Hall, and Nørreport Station,centre for trains, the Metro, and buses.

Claude Chabrol 1930 – 2010

Copenhagen Filmhouse celebrates the great director Claude Chabrol who died this September, 80 years old. We will be showing some of his best films and invite you to the Danish premiere of his final film, the thriller "Bellamy" (2009).

CPH:DOX Documentary Film Festival 4-14 November

Docs will screen in the Filmhouse and in cinemas all over town. With 11 days, 180 films, 6 competitions, Copenhagen doc fest gives you the chance to see this years most exciting films.
