Two Danish world premieres will be part of the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival as the New York film fest kicks off in June.
Annette K. Olesen's ensemble drama 'A Matter of Trust' will be featuring in the international narrative competition, vying for Best Narrative Feature, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Performance.
Gabriel Bier Gislason's debut film, the horror romance 'Attachment', is selected for Midnight, a special section dedicated to horror and genre films.

Ensemble drama about trust
On a perfectly ordinary late summer's day, five unrelated people are having their lives turned upside down in Annette K. Olesen's ensemble drama.
A husband, a doctor, a wife, a student and a seven-year-old daughter are unsuspectingly put on a collision course with each their fateful crossroads. In the search of love, identity and moral gauge they all risk the most vulnerable aspect of life: Trust. But trust is under attack and the consequences will be irreversible, forbidden and embarrassingly amusing.
The film is based on five short stories by Carsten Jensen, Martin Kongstad, Caroline Albertine Minor, Niels Henning Krag Jensby and Kamilla Hega Holst, respectively, adapted for screen by Maren Louise Käehne. The cast includes Trine Dyrholm, Jakob Cedergreen, Sofie Juul Blinkenberg, Ellen Rovsing Knudsen, Morten Hee Andersen and Emil Aron Dorph.
Annette K. Olesen made her feature debut in 2002 with the ‘Minor Mishaps’, which won the Blue Angel in Berlin. Her directorial credits include ‘In Your Hands’ (2004), ‘Little Soldier’ (2008) and episodes of the TV series ‘Borgen’ (2010).
'A Matter of Trust' is produced by Jonas Frederiksen for Nimbus Film with support from the Danish Film Institute. Scandinavian Film Distribution is launching the film in Danish theatres on 29 September.
Debut film from New Danish Screen
Writer-director Gabriel Bier Gislason's first feature film draws heavily on Jewish mythology and mysticism.
Maja, a has-been actress in Denmark, falls in love with Leah, a young Jewish academic visiting from the UK. When Leah suffers a mysterious seizure, Maja fears their whirlwind romance might be cut short and decides to follow Leah back to her home in London. There, Maja meets her new downstairs neighbour: Leah’s mother, Chana. An overbearing, seemingly religious and highly secretive woman, Chana seems resistant to all of Maja’s attempts to win her over. And as Maja notices strange occurrences in the building, she begins to suspect that Chana’s secrets could be much darker than first anticipated.
Cast as the young couple are Josephine Park and Ellie Kendrick, playing alongside Sofie Gråbøl and David Dencik.
Gabriel Bier Gislason, a graduate from New York University, has previously directed short films in both Denmark and the USA.
'Attachment' is produced by Thomas Heinesen for Nordisk Film and is supported by the Danish Film Institute's New Danish Screen talent development scheme. Nordisk has set the national release date at 30 June.
