Herfra min verden går
Christian Braad Thomsen, 1976
A small village, once rural idyll, today mostly cemented over by a highway, is called "my native soil" by the writer-director who grew up here and has now returned to listen to the surviving villagers' echoing of the past, their grim struggles and mostly dashed hopes, their music and their songs. He himself finds reconciliation with the past and even, to some extent, with the present: it isn't all bad.
