Edward Fleming, 1987
Edward Fleming directed a stage production of Noel Coward's "Waiting in the Wings" in 1981. When he brought the comedy into the film studios, he brought along some of his stage actresses as well. The empathy between director and actresses is obvious in the individual showcasing of each of the ladies appearing on the screen as the squabbling inhabitants of a home for retired distaff thespians.
Sirup
Helle Ryslinge, 1990

Skyggen af Emma
Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, 1988
Another Søren Kragh-Jacobsen exploration of the hearts and minds of childhood and youth: Emma, age 12, lives in an affluent 1930s home with parents too busy to pay her the attention she craves. So why not fake a grand-style for-real kidnapping of herself? While off on her own, Emma makes friends with a Swedish sewer-worker. Together, they get into lots of trouble.
Skytten
Tom Hedegaard, Franz Ernst, 1977
Novelist Anders Bodelsen and filmmaker Franz Ernst co-wrote the script and Tom Hedegaard was at the helm of this political thriller, the engine of which runs on the heated for or against nuclear power debate of the 1970s. A fanatic is inspired by a journalist's public statement in favor of a legitimate taking up arms in what you consider a just cause. The fanatic happens to be also a crack shot.
