Hvem myrder hvem?
Li Vilstrup, 1978
The Karen Silkwood case is emulated in this thriller with a not-so-hidden political message: In a near-future Denmark, nuclear power has been introduced, and security measures have turned the nation into a police state. One woman welfare worker at an atomic plant suspects certain leaks, but when she tries to sound the alarm, it soon becomes obvious that her own life is in danger.

Hærværk
Ole Roos, 1977
Tom Kristensen's 1930 novel "Havoc" remains a work of towering impact. Its central character is a literary critic on a Copenhagen daily, who boozes his way through crises of political and religious convictions from Marxism to the Catholic faith. His marriage and his job lost, he seeks deeper into the bottle, but somehow also into existentialist truths about life and himself.
Høfeber
Annelise Hovmand, 1991
Popular although acidly satirical novelist Leif Panduro's last novel (1975) turned into broad-beamed family film fare: a circuit judge is saddled with a roaming wife; a drop-out son; a nasty girl-friend with a transvestite companion; all the vengeful people on whom he has passed sentence over the years, plus a severe case of hay fever. He sees no way better out than having himself declared dead.
Hør, var der ikke en som lo?
Henning Carlsen, 1978
The late 1930s. A young enemployed, unskilled worker walks through the streets of Copenhagen, sustaining himself partly on the dole and free soup-kitchen meals and partly on day-dreams. He spends time at a cemetry studying headstone inscriptions.
