Life and the world seen through the slight haze of the seedy Ostrich Café. Meet Sven, the butcher who dreams of an operatic career; window-cleaner Ib, who has eyes only for Caja; the waitress Søren, the head-waiter; and Lasse, who tickles the ivories of the worn-down piano. The café's proprietor makes everybody's life a hassle, so the five friends constantly toy with the idea of opening their own joint.
