De uanstændige
Edward Fleming, 1983
Inspired by rather than literally transferring Leif Panduro's 1960 novel to film, Edward Fleming used only part of the novel to tell his own story of Thomas, the high-school son of a petit bourgeois family, who in 1939, oblivious of world events, is busy learning a lot about life's other aspects from a neighbouring family with a more artistic lifestyle and definitely of more relaxed sexual morals.
Den ubetænksomme elsker
Claus Ploug, 1982
Published in 1973 and one of the more complex novels of the Leif Panduro literary oeuvre turned into a no less complex psychological drama that pursues Panduro's favorite madness-versus-sanity theme in deadly earnest: A doctor and conventional family man gets involved in a small city's local intrigue. Drawn towards a woman patient, who suffers from schizophrenia, his own mental balance is badly upset.

Udenrigskorrespondenten
Jørgen Leth, 1983
Writer-director Jørgen Leth's first actual feature film retains the filmmaker's stylistic trademarks (meditative voice-over narration, fragmented action, some of it improvised) in telling the story of a Danish newsman going through an indentity crisis while covering events in El Salvador and Haïti. A mysterious woman appears, disappears. Evocative moods takes precendence throughout.

Undskyld vi er her
Hans Kristensen, 1980
Partners Hans Kristensen (director) and Hans Hansen (script) foreswore their edgy social realism comedy style to dive head first into wacko farcial story of cousins Aage and Viggo in general revolt against generally everything. The filmmakers are obviously inspired by Chaplin as well as by their uniquely offbeat-talented lead players, Tommy Kenter and Jesper Christensen.
