Cecilie McNair, Denmark, 2022

92 min.DK/FeatureDrama

Hannah (36), a recognized fertility doctor at Venus private clinic, struggles with infertility. She is challenged by fate when she meets the career woman Gry (45) nearing 46, who, unlike Hannah, is still fertile. Gry helps Hannah in a vulnerable moment where they both recognize a mutual understanding and support. Hannah promises to help Gry with having a child, despite legal age restrictions of treatment on women over 46 years old. Complications arise when Hannah’s boss Lars (65) learns of Hannah’s plans, and orders Hannah to stop her treatment of Gry. Meanwhile, Hannah needs to come to terms with her own infertility. Driven by jealousy and powerlessness, her moral and ethical compass starts to set out, leading to fatal consequences, not least for Hannah.
