A documentary, which takes us on a meditative journey through and beyond the architectural disputes of post-unification Berlin. From the Potsdamer Platz in the West of the city to the Alexanderplatz in the East, and from the male dominated conservative urban planning of the 1990s to today's more gender balanced and open-minded planning culture. The film poses questions with relevance for all cities that like Berlin have a ruptured history: How can a new identity be developed and prosperity be pursued without this happening at the cost of existing identities and needs, and what could the role of city planning be in this connection? Can the city in the globalized remain a city for all or is it doomed to become ever more exclusive?
