The Sandbox is a series about exploring the world, about differences and about emotional challenges between siblings, seen through the siblings Bror aged 2 and Marie aged 4 on their adventure in the sandbox.
The Sandbox contains everything from dandelions, sand toys, apple shells, a forgotten shoe, a pacifier, etc. which are all part of Bror and Marie's life. Marie is adventurous and wants to go on an adventure in the sandbox, which she is very curious to get to know. Bror wants to play with his sister and always likes to accompany her, but while Marie is more interested in meeting new friends and exploring the sandbox, Bror is busy creating the adventure right where he is, with fun inventions. In this way, the sibling relationship is full of conflicts and emotions that young children will be able to recognize and relate to. Bror and Marie both play together and become friends, but despite their differences they stick together and learn that it is twice as good to be two.
