Incomplete film documenting the first stages of Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen's expedition to the South Pole in 1911. We see daily life of the Fram crew going south. A pig is slaughtered, and they joke around. They arrive at the Bay of Whales, and erect their camp Framheim. There are several panorama shots of the landscape, and the dogs also receive attention. Some minor trips are done by dog sledge, to bury rations along the way to the Pole. The film ends with the slaughter of a seal.
