The Olsen gang - final mission

The Olsen Gang series is one of the greatest successes in the history of Danish film, moreover it has in its time had a large audience in some European countries. In each film Egon Olsen, the gang's ingenious leader, hatches a new plan; and his less able but enthusiastic friends, Benny and Kjeld help him carry it out. The plan often succeeds, but something usually goes wrong. »The Olsen Gang - Final Mission« is the first film after a seventeen-year break.

This time, the trio-members are much older. Egon has collected many an ambitious plan over the years of inactivity, and now they are to be implemented: before the gang retires it intends to steal the British crown jewels. Though Egon has become hard of hearing and only gets into the swing of things when his hearing aid batteries work, the gang has not lost its touch. Much succeeds, but as always, something crops up. The Olsen Gang are 'honest crooks' operating in their own old-fashioned, transparent mode in this film full of inventive gags and subtle satire.
