Bjørnstjerne Martinus Bjørnson (1832-1910) was a Norwegian author with great influence in the public debate regarding Scandinavia and Norway. He died in Paris on 26 April 1910. On April 30 the coffin arrived by train to Copenhagen. From the central station the coffin was taken the harbor, where the battleship ‘Norge’ awaited to sail the body to Kristiania (Oslo).
