An ironical film essay about the transformation which has taken place in Denmark during the past 25 years based on a book of the same title by Knud Bidstrup, who sees this period as one of the most decisive in the history of Denmark. A traditionally agricultural country is abruptly transformed into an industrial one. Agriculture itself becomes industrialized, and the service population, from having been a minority, swells into becoming the predominant occupational group. During the past quarter of a century, twice as much urban development has taken place as in the previous millenium. »Geography is something that happens - and we make it happen.«
