At a mental institution, a young psychiatrist cannot help the woman killer of an abusive husband by conventional methods. Doctor and patient fall in love. They abscond. They have a brief affair, while the doctor tries to talk, walk, cajole and by various intimate means bring the woman back to sanity. All is in vain. Her disorder is too deeply rooted, her demand for all-consuming love is far beyound him.
