On a trip to Lemvig, Countess Mira falls in love with the handsome fisherman Carl. However, Carl is already engaged to a local fisher girl, but that doesn’t hold Mira back. Using her woman’s craft and with a little help from her friend, she steals Carl’s heart right under the fisher girl’s nose, who then falls ill from the heartbreak. A dramatic accident at sea happens which shakes Carl to his core and has to choose. Does he want the charming countess or his beautiful but poor fiancée?
