A generation portrait of young people in the upper secondary school anno 1995 - in the light of the breaks in the canteen of their school: Falkonergårdens Gymnasium in Copenhagen. In four months the camera crew followed the pupils in their own universe: the canteen - the place where they have their breaks - where they can be themselves without meddling from the adults: the teachers and the parents. The pupils tell about everything they care about: feelings, love, friends, inferiorities, boy and girl friends, and teachers with warmth, humour, and self-insight. About the relations to the school, of being children of the 68-generation, their thoughts about the future, about rebellions, politics and the society. And last but not least the difficulty in being young and in finding their own identity in a confused time.
