The Street Museum, Nuoro, Sardinia

Museo del Costume e delle Arti Popolari, Nuoro. Every year on Sardinia strange rituals are performed as a natural part of life in the villages, although their original significance is no longer known. The video shows processions in the streets and the costumes and masks displayed in tableaux in the ethnographical museum. The continuity in the museum and the rituals of the streets connect and mutually influence each other.
