The film follows 12-year-old Maja and 8-year-old Peter through a period of their lives when they experience their parents' divorce. The film describes with seriousness - but also with humour - how the divorce interferes in their lives in relation to their friends, family and themselves. Is it their fault? Is mummy foolish - because daddy says so? Elisabeth Rygård about the film: »Heart of Glass« describes a development within the children from chaos and sorrow to acceptance of the new living conditions.
