A short poetic film, that describes the famous Danish poet's views on life and death. The film is set on The Assistens Churchyard in Copenhagen. Andersen once wrote that the graves are like open books laying with their sleeves in the air. All tell a different story. He went to the churchyard to dig graves for his enimies, who made his life miserable and to be inspired for his beautiful fairy tales.
