A dark and cold autumn night, Hektor Poulsen's car breaks down on a deserted country road. Tired and discouraged he decides to leave the car and walk to the nearest town for shelter from the night. He takes lodgings in a little, peculiar hotel, whose owner leaves an uncomforting impression. Hektor wakes up to his worst nightmare at the Hotel Pandemonium.
